A wild-caught hybrid between the Puffadder Bitis arietans and Gaboon viper Bitis gabonica was caught near the eastern border of Zimbabwe in 1992 and kept in captivity at Harare for over 11 years. The preserved specimen is compared with the parent species and interactions with them noted.
