The South African subspecies of the Green- Cap Eremomela Eremomela Scotops Sundevall by P.A Clancey.

Eremomela scotops Sundevall, first discovered by the Swedish naturalist-explorer, J.A. Walberg, in the 1840s in the moutains to the west of the present city of two races in South Africa,namely E.S scotops Sundevall, 1850:; Mohapoani, Rustenburg district, Transvaal, and E.s. extrena White, 1960; Lungwebungu R., Balovale district, Zambia.
